The thought-provoking \"pauses\" and other elements may remind you of the world of Japanese poetry. (1) for piano was written for Tudor and premiered by him in 1952. It consists of 16 sections of varying length and density (chords). The performance is full of tension, though it uses a lot of \"pauses\" (rests), which is considered to be a characteristic of his early works. The score of (2) was composed with the intention of being performed with a singer, but here Jefsky performs it alone. 10 pages long, the score is so difficult that Wolff himself said, \"It leads the performer into a labyrinth. It is a 14'38\" work that is a great work to see how Jefschi tackles the challenge. In this piece, too, the tension is heightened by the pauses (rests) between notes. (3) is a work for orchestra. It consists of 10 parts, and this recording contains five parts: II (chords), V (metal), VI (melody and accompaniment), VIII (100 bits), and IX (quicksand), performed by some of the most gorgeous people in 20th century music history, and it is remarkable! Burdock, by the way, is a burdock. David Behrman (b.1937)---Heifetz's nephew. He has been active in the field of electronic music as a member of the Sonic Arts Union (a live electronic music performance group) since 1966. He uses a system he developed himself. (He participated in (3) on viola, melodeon, and whistle. Gordon Mumma (b.1935)---American composer, electronic music composer, and horn player. Founded Sonic Arts Union. His style skillfully combines sound and space. He has collaborated with many other genres, including dance. In (3), he participates on horn and harmonica. Frederic Zewski (b.1938)---American composer and pianist. In addition to premiering Stockhausen's piano works, he has recorded works by Boulez and Eisler. He is also renowned as the author of \"The Indomitable People,\" one of the most dramatic and difficult piano works of the 20th century. On (3), he participates on piano and percussion. David Tudor (b.1926)---American pianist and composer. He participated in the premieres of important works such as Stockhausen's \"Contacte\" and introduced Boulez's Sonata No. 2 to the United States. He was a close friend of Cage and invented what might be called \"happening\" (music of coincidence). Since 1960, he has been active mainly as a performer of electronic music. He played bandoneon and organ in (3). John Nash --- violinist on (3).
