Five premieres of the *St. Mark Passion* are recorded—in 1770, 1774, 1778, 1782, and 1786—and this release features the fifth and final version.\nLike the *St. John Passion* (60103) and the *St. Matthew Passion* (1785 version \/ 60113) previously released by Capriccio, this recording of the *St. Mark Passion* also utilizes precious sheet music preserved in the collection of the Berlin Singakademie. This recording is a live recording from a concert held at the Glocke Great Hall in Bremen on April 10–11, 2006, and is, of course, the world premiere recording.\nThe performances by the Mendelssohn Sinfonia \u0026amp; Europa Choir Academy—founded by conductor Daus himself—and the soloists are outstanding.
