Titled Ce soir au cinéma (\"Tonight at the Cinema\"), this album was conceived as a homage to Armand Panigel, presenter of the French television series of the same name. Luisada, who went to the cinema four times a week even during his years at the Paris Conservatoire, plays throughout with palpable love for the medium. Note too that the Adagietto from Death in Venice appears here in an arrangement by Alexandre Tharaud.\n\n\u003cjean-marc luisada\u003e\nAfter studying at the Yehudi Menuhin School in London, he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, taking a Premier Prix in Dominique Merlet's piano class in 1977 and another in the chamber music class of Geneviève Joy-Dutilleux in 1978. He was a prizewinner at the Dino Ciani Competition (1983) and at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (1985). Among the great musicians from whom he received guidance were Marcel Ciampi, Denyse Rivière, Paul Badura-Skoda, Miloš Magin and Vlado Perlemuter.\nHe has pursued a career as a concert pianist for more than thirty years, appearing in many of the world's leading halls including the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Alice Tully Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. He is a regular guest at distinguished international festivals across Europe and America, among them the Chopin Festival in Paris, the Festival International de Piano de La Roque d'Anthéron, the Besançon Festival, La Folle Journée in Nantes, the Berlioz Festival at La Côte-Saint-André and La Grange au Piano in Berry.\nAs a chamber musician he has collaborated with Gary Hoffman, Pierre Amoyal, Philippe Bernold, Yuzuko Horigome and Patrick Messina, and with the Talich, Modigliani and Fine Arts Quartets. He also teaches at the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris.
