He left behind more than 60 recordings and boasted a distinguished record of awards, including winning first prize at the Haarlem International Organ Competition (Netherlands) for three consecutive years. Izoard studied under Roland Farsinelli at the Paris Conservatory. In 1960, he graduated from the conservatory after winning first prize by unanimous decision in the organ improvisation class. He previously served as organist at the Church of Saint-Médard in Paris (1952–1957) and the Church of Saint-Séverin (1967–1973). Since 1973, he has served as organist at the Church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. He gained particular renown as an authority on the organ music of J.S. Bach and French composers, and released a vast number of recordings.
