Iren Pritchin, who was the much talked about concertmaster of Musica Eterna's first visit to Japan led by Kurrenzis, was the fourth prize winner in the violin section of the 16th Tchaikovsky International Competition in 2019, but before that (the 15th in 2015) he was the second prize winner in the piano section! I made a fascinating album with Lucas Genuchus. The original compositions by Debussy (1917), Ahn (1926), and Stravinsky (1932) are arranged to show the composers' unique aesthetics while evoking the Parisian cultural transitions of the 1910s, '20s, and '30s, respectively. Reynaldo Ahn's sonatas are most welcome. The sonatas are full of charming melodies and have been increasingly recorded in recent years, but this is a true masterpiece. Pritchen was captivated by it at first sight, and Genuchus, who was introduced to him, praised it as \"a comfort and a cure for a difficult time in his life, and since then Arn has been as dominant in his musical thinking as Schubert. The intensity of the feelings of both performers revealed not only the fluidity and freshness of the music, but also the complexity of their feelings, including bitter nostalgia for Belle Epoque culture and intimate dialogue with their literary partner, the great Proust, resulting in a brilliant performance that will lead to a new appreciation of this work.
