On this album, Cuyet has selected and recorded works that highlight Domenico’s contributions to church music.
This 10-part *Stabat Mater* is not only one of the few surviving works of its kind but also a masterpiece that demonstrates Domenico’s superb sense of harmony and counterpoint. Although composed of 10 voices and a basso continuo, the work showcases Domenico’s unparalleled skill in harmony and counterpoint. In “Inflammatus et accensus,” there is a stern yet intense exchange between the soprano and alto voices, which seems to symbolically express the agony of Christ’s crucifixion.
This cantata is one of Domenico’s early works, set to a text by Metastasio. It is said that Domenico received this text from the legendary castrato singer Farinelli (real name: Carlo Broschi). The album is packed with highlights, including excerpts from operas.

Bertrand Cuillet
He began playing the harpsichord at the age of 8 under the guidance of his mother, Jocelyn Cuillet. His father is Daniel Cuillet, a conductor and Baroque violinist (leader of Ensemble Stradivaria and other ensembles). He studied under Lucé at the Paris Conservatoire and also under Pierre Antay. He was a prize winner at the 1998 Bruges International Competition.
In 2015, he founded the ensemble “Le Caravansérail.”
King International

Tracklisting:

1.Sonate K. 144 Sol majeur
2.Stabat Mater Do mineur~I.
