The new album further expands the range of expression, which is immediately apparent in the opening two pieces, both for viola and piano. Whispered Lullaby is a song of longing, while Suite in Jazz Style is a chamber music meditation on the movements, moods, and textures of jazz. Spinning a Yarn, for violin and hurdy-gurdy, has an old-fashioned, folkloric feel.Tabakova conducted the BBC Concert Orchestra in Fantasy Homage to Schubert, which transforms Schubert's melody and turns it heavenward, evoking the image of a slowly rotating planet. Organum Light, also for strings, draws inspiration from Gibbons and Purcell. The luminous final piece, Sun Triptych, evokes the movement of light falling on the natural world throughout the day. Maxim Lizanov on viola, Roman Mintz on violin, and Kristina Blaumane on cello are performers who also participated in the first work. Friends and colleagues from their days at the Guildhall School of Music are now first-rate soloists, and having grown up with the expressive language and color of Tabakova's music, they are ideal performers. The album was produced by Manfred Eicher, recorded in Berlin and Watford, and mixed in Munich.\n\n\n\nDobrinka Tabakova was born in 1980 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and has lived in London since 1991, when she moved to England with her family.He studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and King's College London, and was Composer-in-Residence for the BBC Concert Orchestra for five years from 2017, taking over conducting duties at the end of this period.\n\n\n\n'This piece is full of the solace I find in nature. The first movement has a gently rising melodic line in the soloists and increasingly dense and rich chords in the strings. The textures of the first movement are followed by a faint tremolo in the second movement, \"Day,\" and the shimmering of the strings suggests the sound of insects or a shimmering flame when the sun is at its strongest. The final movement is the reverse of the first movement, ending the journey with 'Dusk'\" (Dobrinka Tabakova) (about \"Sun Triptych\").\n\nUniversal Music\/IMS\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"ECM New Series","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51868434039073,"sku":"28948785582","price":3141.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/28948785582.jpg?v=1759230263","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/28948785582","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
