Some of the pavilions featured experimental music and multimedia works, some of which were even released on record. However, very little has actually been revealed about the music created for the numerous events held at the massive “Festival Plaza” built in the center of the grounds. With many audio sources lost, we’ve deciphered some of these works for the first time using the precious remaining records! In particular, the music for “Flag, Flag, Flag and the Plaza of Light”—personally recorded during the exhibition by Kuniharu Akiyama, who was in charge of music and sound direction—is now a hidden treasure that can only be heard through this recording.
