This album embodies the musical multiplicity—the diversity and variety—that Roger has consistently pursued throughout his solo career, and its tracks are united by a common theme. “Oh, there is a theme. It’s right there in the title itself (*Violence Insane In A Beautiful World*). It’s about how we live in such a beautiful world, so please don’t ruin it. These times seem to be filled with madness. Violence in the world seems to be getting worse than ever—at least worse than I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. It’s truly terrifying, and there’s just too much of this ‘insane violence.’ On top of that, we ourselves continue to destroy the world—with plastic pollution in the oceans, terrible wars breaking out everywhere, and hatred stemming from religious differences running rampant.” On the other hand, the overall tone of the album is full of hope. “Even so, the world is beautiful. I think kindness is very important, but it’s often forgotten. That’s the underlying theme.”

The new album, *Violence Insane in a Beautiful World*, is the seventh release in Roger’s solo career, which began in 1977. It is his first solo album in five years, following *Outsider*, which was released in 2021 and reached the Top 3 on the UK charts. While the album features a cover of John Lennon’s classic “Jealous Guy”—which Roger himself describes as “one of the greatest ballads of all time”—he composed, produced, performed, and sang on all other tracks. The production was supported by his longtime collaborator Joshua J. McRae, members of his live band, and the Ndlovu Youth Choir (a South African vocal group that gained attention for its stunning Zulu-language cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody”), who contributed to three tracks.

“I love eclecticism. The Beatles are a good example—I’ve always felt that their work since *Revolver* has been consistently eclectic (with different elements coexisting). You never know what the next song will be like, and it’s completely different from the one before. That’s what I’ve always wanted Queen to be, too. We’ve taken on all sorts of unusual challenges that a conventional person wouldn’t dare attempt. I’m sure you’ll also enjoy the surreal elements of the new album.”

Tracklisting:

2.Violence Insane
3.What Really Matters
4.Don't Photograph Food
5.I See You Now
1.Chump
2.Spit In His Eye
3.Jealous Guy
4.Come On Summer (It's Party Time) (feat.
