Born in Louisiana, Buddy Guy moved to Chicago in 1957 and performed with legendary guitarists such as Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and Little Walter at Chess Records. Chess Records was also the label that released his debut album in 1968.\nIn the early 1990s, Buddy signed with Silvertone Records, building a long and fruitful relationship that spanned over 30 years and resulted in the release of more than 12 albums. One of those albums is this release, *Sweet Tea* (2001), which stands as one of his signature works. To commemorate its 25th anniversary, it is now being released for the first time on crystal-clear vinyl.\nRecorded at the eponymous studio in Mississippi, this album features a raw, back-to-basics approach and numerous extended, heavy jam sessions, fully showcasing Buddy’s true talent. Nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album, the highlights of this album are four tracks by the late Junior Kimball, a blues stylist from the American South.
