Themes of betrayal, deception, fear, grief, death, questions of sanity, and struggles with darkness of various kinds, are heavily influenced by the death of his dog, which happened to him. With the addition of new member Annicke Shireen on vocals for this album, the band's established signature style of dreamy moods, epic riffs, angelic harmonies, and fusion of prog and pop has been retained, along with longtime influences Pink Floyd, as well as Talk The band has also taken a new direction by incorporating influences from Talk Talk, Elliott Smith, The Smile, and even Arctic Monkeys, in addition to their long-time influences of Pink Floyd.
