The new album "Mirror to the Sky" is the 23rd studio album by the progressive rock band legend Yes, consisting of Steve Howe, Jeff Downes, John Davison, Billy Sherwood, and Jay Sherren. It is the 23rd studio album of the band, and the first album in about one year and seven months since their last album, "The Quest", which was a big hit at No. 20 on the UK charts. Steve Howe, the oldest member of Yes, guitar maestro, and producer of "Mirror to the Sky," said, "This is a very important album for this band. This is a very important album for the band. It maintains the approach established in The Quest, but it doesn't repeat itself," said Steve Howe, master guitarist and producer of Mirror to the Sky. That was the whole point. We're growing and moving forward, just like Yes did with every album in the '70s. In later years, Yes was active, but they often didn't do the next thing. This album represents us growing and building again.For Yes, that 'next thing' is a high-energy, complex, rewarding, multi-layered album of new studio-recorded songs that add to their much-admired legacy while paving the way for exciting developments to come." Mirror to the Sky is available in multiple formats, and all formats feature artwork by longtime Yes collaborator Roger Dean. The title track is just shy of 14 minutes long. Each song, like Jesus at his best, takes the listener on a journey through a wide-ranging and dynamically shifting sonic landscape. There is Steve Howe's dazzling guitar, keyboard wizard Jeff Downes' impeccable sound and graceful melodies and fills, John Davison's beautifully clear vocals, Billy Sherwood's expertly dancing bass, and Jay Shellen's masterful Jay Shellen showcases a burst of controlled drumming. The album is presented in a deluxe hardcover book format (10"/36 pages), and the Blu-ray will include Dolby Atmos/5.1 surround/instrumental mixes of each of the album's nine tracks.
