It won the Echo Classic Award for “Ensemble of the Year” and became an international bestseller. Since then, the ensemble has continued to release albums such as *Beaver and Piazzolla*, *Dufay and Philip Glass*, “Satie and Schweitzer,” and “Purcell and The Beatles”—all stem from the motto of music director Wolfgang Katchner and the Lauten Company: “creating original crossover albums.”\n\nThis latest release, *New Vivaldi*, follows in that tradition, featuring new arrangements of Antonio Vivaldi’s *The Four Seasons* and other popular works for a unique instrumental ensemble consisting of a Baroque ensemble, recorder, saxophone, and percussion. Following the Baroque musical principle of “pastiche”—a technique perfected by Vivaldi himself that involves freely adapting original works, replacing original texts with new ones, and rearranging existing compositions—the album offers fresh interpretations through imaginative arrangements. Percussion instruments such as drums and tablas add rock and Indian-style flavors, while the saxophone transforms the music into a modern jazz sound; the recorder evokes birdsong, and multiple lute-family instruments create an idyllic, medieval atmosphere.\n\nThe album features exclusively famous works by Vivaldi. Six movements are drawn from *The Four Seasons*; the “breeze” is expressed in the Allegro of “Summer,” “thunder” in the Presto, “bitter winds” in the Allegro and Largo of “Winter,” and “snowfall” through percussive effects, all conveying the power of nature. The album also includes instrumental arrangements of arias from the opera *Bayazet* and *Judith’s Triumph*, the only surviving oratorio by Vivaldi.\nSony Music\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"DHM Deutsche Harmonia Mundi","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53374645338401,"sku":"196587248628","price":2421.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/196587248628.jpg?v=1787632169","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/196587248628","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
