Psychotic Waltz
Description:
PSYCHOTIC WALTZ, the pioneers and innovators who were at the forefront of the progressive metal scene in the early 90's, are back with "The God-Shaped Void," the first album in 23 years by the early members of the pioneering progressive metal band PSYCHOTIC WALTZ. PSYCHOTIC WALTZ was formed in California in 1988 after the formation of its predecessor ASLAN. After releasing their debut album "A Social Grace" (1990), PSYCHOTIC WALTZ's musicality, similar to that of QUEENSRYCHE and FATES WARNING, caused their fans to go wild, and the band became popular mainly in Europe. The band continued to release high-quality albums "Into the Everflow" (1992) and "Mosquito" (1994). However, after the departure of bassist Ward Evans, the members of the band split up with the release of "Bleeding", bringing a regrettable end to the band's activities. After a long silence, the five original members of the first three albums reunited in 2010 for a successful "Power Of Metal tour" with NEVERMORE and SYMPHONY X, touring Europe and performing at festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Copenhell, and ProgPower. They have also performed at festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Copenhell, and ProgPower. The band's confidence was restored by this experience, and in 2012, they resumed songwriting for a new album, which took seven years to complete. This new album, "The God-Shaped Void," is truly one that fans have been waiting for. It has been 23 years since the band's last album, "Bleeding," was released in 1996, and it is a monumental work. The album still retains the strong rhythm section that supports the spacious twin guitar harmonies, and the unique and bewitching vocals of the floating Devon Graves that create a world of illusion. Regardless of the evolution of the production process and technology with the passage of time, what we have here is the unmistakable sound of PSYCHOTIC WALTZ. For fans who know the sound of PSYCHOTIC WALTZ, it is as if the hands of a clock that have stopped moving have started moving again. Recorded by Ulrich Wild, mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (OPETH, DEVIN TOWNSEND, SYMPHONY X).
