The drums on this album are handled by Jim White, a drummer known for his work with The Hard Quartet and The Dirty Three, as well as for his collaboration with Pavement’s Stephen Malmas. For a long time, Anba believed that pure instrumental music could save the soul and lead one to a higher spiritual state even without words, but eventually, words found their way in. When playing the saxophone, Amba often felt as if she were being carried up to heaven. Her body would burn with passion, tears would well up, and the music would open a direct channel to the divine.
