Pitfalls", their sixth album, is a fresh and exciting leap into new territory. This 9-track, 55-minute album is ? It is truly a spectacular listening experience. The limited edition CD media book will be a gorgeous hardcover book with 11 tracks, including two bonus tracks. Pitfalls is frontman Einar Solberg's most personal album to date. It is a record of his own battle with depression. Depression struck Einar around the same time he began work on this album. But even in the midst of his battle with the disease, he continued to write lyrics. This album has a very deep meaning for me," Einar said. It speaks of the year and a half I have been dealing with anxiety and depression. I don't use figurative language, just straight facts that I faced, so I think everyone can understand what I went through." The first song on this album is the melancholic "Below," which tells the story of how it felt when the depression began. The song opens with Einar's voice, which sounds like a cry of grief, and a magnificent string melody. While the lyrics are conceptually consistent, each song has its own presence. The middle track, "Alleviate," is perhaps the most commercial sounding song in the band's history. The final track, "The Sky Is Red," which was recorded in Belgrade with a classical choir and a large number of takes, is an 11-minute, 22-second epic of divine light and hope after a long tunnel of darkness. Produced by David Castillo (KATATATONIA, OPETH, ELUVEITIE, DIMMU BORGIR), as on the previous album "Malina". Recording was done at Ghostward Studios in Stockholm with David. Mixing was done by Adam Noble (PLACEBO, BIFFY CLYRO, NOTHING BUT THIEVES, DEAF HAVANA). Guest musicians include cellist Raphael Weinroth-Browne, who has performed with the band in the past, and violinist Chris Baum of label mate BENT KNEE. This album was produced with the goal and determination to grow in terms of production, and the time, effort, and expense required to achieve this goal has been well-spent.Produced with David Castillo, Einar spent a total of 75 days in the studio before he was convinced that he had completed his work without any compromise.

Tracklisting:

.Below
.I Lose Hope
.Observe the Train
.By My Throne
.Alleviate
.At the Bottom
.Distant Bells
.Foreigner
.The Sky Is Red
.Golden Prayers
.Angel (cover version)
