Handel loved the work so much that he revised it twice, changing the title slightly, and in March 2005, Eym conducted a critically acclaimed performance at London's Barbican Hall, followed by a CD recording with Nathalie Dessay in 2006. In 2016, the production was staged at the Aix-en-Provence Festival. The production was directed by Krzysztof Varlikowski, a genius director who revolutionized the Warsaw theater scene. The stage is divided into two halves, the audience is integrated into the stage, and the modern staging, which makes full use of video images, gives the audience a sense of the emotional bewitchment of the four performers. Duvier, a beautiful opera diva who seems to have already entered the realm of veterans; Fagioli, who is very popular for her superb technique and mysterious voice; Mingardo, with his deep, soft colors; and Spires, a tenor singer who has been active in recent years, winning acclaim for her austerity, singing, and acting. The instrumental ensemble, while chamber-like, has a richness of expression that seems to have stepped outside the realm of classical music.
