When William of Wiscombe, Bishop of Winchester, founded New College in 1379, he made the service of God central to the college. Its chapel was the centerpiece of the college building, with a permanent choir (choir) for its services. Today the chapel community seeks to carry on this same tradition of worship, petition and execution of praise and thanksgiving, bearing witness to the universal presence and power of God's love. The soprano part consists of 16 boy sopranos. And sung by countertenors, tenors, and basses, the music is the ultimate heavenly healing music.
