Lucienne Renaudin Vary

Description:

French jazz and classical trumpeter "Lucienne," who has been attracting attention for his brilliant performances, celebrates the 100th anniversary of Piazzolla's birth with his third album! The trumpet is my voice," says Lucienne. On her two albums, she has demonstrated a wide range of musicality, playing baroque and French songs as well as Gershwin and musical masterpieces with perfect technique and skill. His ability and popularity have reverberated not only in France but also throughout the world. This album is a tribute to Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992), who will celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth in 2021. Piazzolla's music has many facets, and Lucienne has been greatly influenced by it. The programming includes not only Piazzolla's music, but also pieces by composers who influenced and were influenced by Piazzolla. Nadia Boulanger and Alberto Hinastera, with whom Piazzolla studied, are among the most important composers. Piazzolla's work is rich not only in terms of the styles he explored himself, but also in terms of the various instrumentation he played. He was keen to reflect this eclecticism in a variety of lineups, including trumpet solo, orchestra, string quartet, and duets.Lucienne's method of practice is to first learn the music by ear by listening to various performances, then grasp what the composer intended, and incorporate it into his own practice. Finally, he looks at the score, checks it, and plays the notes. I have been practicing this way since I was a child. I learn everything by ear and incorporate it perfectly into myself. I always play barefoot on stage, so I can feel the overtones and play with my whole body," said the first trumpeter who studied both classical music and jazz at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. You can experience his brilliant swing, which is different from that of artists in the classical field. Veteran accordionist Richard Galliano and guitar prodigy Thibaut Garcia will also guest, and "Piazzolla...what a journey! exclaims Lucienne! Warner Music Japan
