Špaček has released several chamber music discs, including his debut album on the Supraphon label (SU4129) of Janacek, Smetana, and Prokofiev, but this is his first recording of a concerto. The three works on this disc are a fantasy by Czech composer Suk, Janacek's violin concerto \"The Soul Wanderer,\" and Dvořák's violin concerto. At the age of 24, Špaček auditioned for the prestigious Czech Philharmonic Orchestra at the recommendation of Itzhak Perlman, who had studied with him at the Juilliard School. He is one of the young performers who already has the potential to become a great artist. His performances in Japan, especially the Brahms Violin Concerto with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Bělohlávek at the Aichi Prefectural Arts Center in November 2013, were highly acclaimed. Now 28 years old (as of 2015), Špáček and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Bělohlávek, have captured the soul of the Czech composer, performing his works with great respect and reverence. This is a new masterpiece on the market.
