New BBC Philharmonic Principal Omar Meir Werber! The first installment of "The Music of Israel," a symphony by Ben-Haim! Omer Meir Welber (Omer Meir Welber), the young Israeli Hope who replaces Fanho Mena as Chief Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic beginning with the 2019/2020 season, and the BBC Philharmonic launch a recording project. Omer Meir Welber, born in Beersheba, Israel in 1981, is a conductor and composer who worked as an assistant to Daniel Barenboim from 2008 to 2010, and emerged as an outstanding conductor at the Saito Kinen Festival in 2010, conducting the opera "Salome" as a substitute for Seiji Ozawa. He is also Music Director of the Teatro Massimo Palermo (Italy) and Principal Guest Conductor of the Semperoper Dresden (Germany), and is one of the most promising young conductors in the world.The BBC Philharmonic has gained popularity through systematic recordings of unknown orchestral works from the conductor's home country, such as "Musica Italiana" with Gianandrea Noseda and "La Musica de España" with Juanjo Mena. In response to the popularity of these recordings, Omar Maier-Werber and the orchestra have opened the "Music of Israel" series, which explores the music of Israel. Making its memorable Chandos debut is the music of Paul Ben-Haim, who emigrated from Germany to Palestine, changed his name from Frankenburger to Ben-Haim in Hebrew style, and became one of Israel's leading composers. While keeping busy internationally, Omar Meir Werber has always been passionate about music in his homeland of Israel, continuing as music director of the Ranana Sinfonietta, which is dedicated to music education projects in Israel, so stay tuned for a new series of performances!
