A collection of chamber works by contemporary American composers with a realistic sound image that skillfully captures a sense of perspective. This is a wonderful recording that reminds us once again of the capabilities of the excellent recording label, Reference Recordings. The transparent hall tones are rich and beautifully resonant, the instruments are in natural harmony, and the actual perspective and spatial expansiveness are captured beautifully. Hats off to Keith O. Johnson's ability to vividly record and beautifully reproduce unfamiliar contemporary works.
