The Symphony Twicles recorded by Herbert von Karajan with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra between 1975 and 1981 will be released in a 17-LP box set. This is a limited edition with serial numbers. The recordings have been called \"a historical benchmark of Bruckner recordings\" (Gramophone magazine) and are among Karajan's finest performances. All recordings were newly remastered and mixed by Rainer Mayerl and Sidney C. Maier at the Emil Berliner Studio in Berlin. Symphonies Nos. 4 through 9 (analog recordings from 1975-79) were made from 8-track tapes according to the standards of the \"Original Source Series,\" while Nos. 1 through 3, digitally recorded in 1980 and 1981, were newly remastered and cut by the same team, also at Emil Berliner Studios.
