Until this album, he has released mainly self-produced albums, and this is his fifth album. Up to the present, he has featured heavyweight saxophonists such as Dayna Stephens and Walter Smith III up front, as well as a gorgeous lineup that includes SteveCardenas and Massi mo Bi ol cati, who plays in Lionel Lueke's band. This time around, the trio is joined by Gerald Clayton, a 20-year friend who also participated in those albums, and Larry Grenadier, a bassist who has played in Pat Metheny's and Brad Meldow's bands and now boasts a career that needs no explanation. Slocum, who has a strong taste as a composer, usually envisions the personalities of the members before writing and arranging, but he did not do so this time. This is why they have been struggling since the beginning of 2017, and it seems that the work has become more of a reflection of themselves. The music consists of eight songs. Some traditional swingy numbers, some classical arrangements based on Chopin's "Prelude No. 4 in E minor," some poetic performances reminiscent of the Bill Evans Trio, some abstract paintings, and some contemporary numbers. This is a remarkable work by an artist born in 1981 and now in his late 30s.

Tracklisting:

.Romulus
.Consolation Prize
.Aspen Island
.Star Prairie
.A Dissolving Alliance
.Days Of Peace
.Sanctuary
.Anselmo
