Description:
Both Rebuertas, a leading Mexican composer, and Copeland, a modern American composer, have written a great deal of music for film. This album features music by the two composers for films with political content. Redes," which means "net" in Spanish, tells the story of a group of unjustly exploited fishermen in Mexico who band together. Rebuertas lends his vibrant music to the film. The City" is a documentary film made for the 1939 New York World's Fair. Copeland uses minimalist-style music to depict the society in which American citizens of the time lived. Naxos Japan
