A cinematic journey into the roots of the classic songs that color "Green Book," a heartwarming road movie modeled on the friendship between black pianist Don Shirley and maverick Italian Caucasian Tony Lipp. The film "Green Book" won the 2019 Academy Award and Golden Globe for its heartwarming story modeled on the friendship between Don Shirley, the one and only black pianist, and Tony Lipp, a maverick Italian white man. This edited compilation focuses on the black music of the 50s and 60s that was the source of that inspiration, and uses a variety of approaches to find the roots of the music. The original songs from the soundtrack are found by relying on the credits of the songs included in the soundtrack, and even the songs that were used in casual scenes in the movie but did not make it into the soundtrack are also included, making this a personalized soundtrack dedicated to all lovers of movies and music!
