In 1979, Huey Lewis, known for his time in bands like Clover and American Express during the 1970s, formed a new band which debuted on Chrysalis Records in the United States in 1980. Their 1982 sophomore album, "Winds of the Bay Area," gained attention with the hit single "Believe in Love." In 1983, they released the massively successful album "Sports," which sold over 8 million copies and featured chart-topping singles such as "I Want a New Drug" and "Heart of Rock 'n' Roll." This success catapulted them to stardom, solidifying their status as one of America's top bands.

In 1985, their song "Power of Love" from the movie "Back to the Future" reached No. 1 on the charts, and their 1986 album "FORE!" also became a hit. In 2013, the band embarked on a tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of "Sports," proving their enduring appeal. Now, in 2023, to mark the 40th anniversary of their iconic album "Sports," a special Japanese singles collection and six original album titles will be released in paper-jacket MQA/UHQ-CD format, providing fans with an exceptional listening experience.
