Chet Baker, the eternal charismatic figure in the jazz world, will celebrate the 95th anniversary of his birth in 2024. This single-layer SACD release is based on the legendary sessions he recorded in Paris in 1955-1956 for the Barclay label and converted to DSD!

This work was recorded in Paris during Chet Baker's first European tour. You can fully enjoy his beautiful playing, which can be said to be at its peak. The young genius pianist Dick Zwarczyk died suddenly in Paris one week after this recording, so this is a rare recording of Baker and Zwarczyk together.

This session took place just three days after the death of Dick Zwarczyk, a genius pianist who died prematurely, and featured the young French pianist Gerard Gustin and Swiss drummer Bart Dahlander. This is a masterful recording of Baker's grief at the loss of his friends, centered on familiar standard tunes.
