This was the week of the world premiere of the film, and normally filming would not be allowed in order to concentrate on the performance, but for the first time, it was allowed. Despite being the premiere of a new work, it was performed with outstanding quality, demonstrating once again the high level of technical skill, expressiveness, and spirituality of the Hamburg Ballet. This work, \"Donna Nobis Perchem,\" was inspired by the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. The title is taken from the Latin \"Dona Nobis Pacem\", the final piece of Bach's great work \"Mass in B minor\".The choreography includes references to \"Imagine\" by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and a poem (by German poet Günter Kuehnert) about the \"Stone of the Human Shadow,\" said to be the human remains left by the heat rays from the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Neumeier visited the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima during his first Japan tour in 1986, and also visited the Peace Memorial Museum. This work is also a prayer for world peace in the face of the suffering that has shaken humanity since February 24, 2022, including Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
