He was a viola player with the Berlin Philharmonic for 14 years and began composing in 1988. He received the UNESCO prize for composition for his clarinet concerto \"Music of Aeriel\" and has worked with orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Dramatis Personae (The Characters of the Play) is a 2013 work. This concerto has a theatrical character, with a brilliant, energetic, and sometimes deeply introspective trumpet as the \"hero. The three movements are \"The Fall of the Superhero,\" \"Monologue,\" and \"The Accidental Revolutionary. The work was premiered in Japan in November 2015 by Hardenberiel with the New Japan Philharmonic conducted by Harding. Luca Francesconi (1956-) was born in Milan.He studied composition with Atzio Corghi, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and Luciano Berio, and jazz in Boston. Since 2004, he has been a professor of composition at the Malmö University of Music and Performing Arts in Sweden. Hard Pace\" tells the story of \"a long and difficult journey.
