Plyaev studied piano at the Moscow Conservatory with Vladimir Natanson. After moving to Europe, he took lessons with Gustav Leonhardt and Jos van Immaasel, and studied harpsichord and fortepiano at the Sverink Conservatory. Since then she has lived and worked in Germany, teaching at the University of Music and Performing Arts Cologne and continuing her international activities. She has performed under the direction of Peter Schreier, Ivar Bolton, and Daniel Reuss, as well as with Hidemi Suzuki, Dorothee Oberlinger, and Anton Steck.
