This album, reissued in 2007 by the prestigious US label Merge, is the memorable first album (1999) by M. Ward, who made it big worldwide as "See & Him," a unit with actress Zooey Deschanel. The album was written in Chicago and Seattle, and recorded and produced by Adam Seltzer of Norfolk and Western in his hometown of Portland. This ambitious work showcases the precocious genius of Norah Jones, Bright Eyes, Cat Power, and many other popular artists. It is also important to note that all the songs are his own compositions, which is rare for M. Ward, who loves covers!
