Veto Kong's debut album is now available on Jagjaguwar, the indie label that includes Bon Evert and Dinosaur Jr. The four-piece band was formed in Calgary in 2012 by two former members of women, who had a fight on stage, cancelled all subsequent tours, and disbanded. The band's sound has a New Wave vibe, such as The Cure and Echo and the Bunnymen, and a hint of 60s psychedelic pop, such as The Zombies, and each member has a background of over a decade of making dark, gothic pop music. The band self-released the single "Slow It Away" in 2013 and released a seven-song EP on the same year. The following year, in 2014, they released the single "Continental Shelf," which is also included in this album, digitally via Jagjaguwar. This is their debut album.
