He is also a member of Golden Palaminos and has participated in various projects such as the Robert Wyatt Tribute Band and tributes to Disney and Nino Rota. He has also gained experience playing accordion on street corners, giving private harmonica lessons, and working part-time at a cafe in Soho.These struggles to keep her own projects afloat seem to have reinforced her uniquely whimsical songwriting sensibility. Mantler's songs of gore are plaintive and easygoing, which again adds to the charm of the album.
