This documentary film documents the history of ZZ Top, a blues-rock band that has transformed into an international rock star, clad in a surrealistic charisma that continues to captivate fans. Produced by Banger Films, creators of "Super Duper Alice Cooper" and the Emmy Award-winning Netflix series "Hip-Hop Evolution. The premiere screening at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood earlier this year was a sold-out. The film tells the secret story of how teenage blues musicians Billy F Gibbons (g), Dusty Hill (b), and Frank Beard (ds) began gigging in bars and rose through the MTV era to worldwide popularity. In addition to interviews with the band members, conversations and previously unreleased footage from enthusiastic celebrity fans such as actor Billy Bob Thornton and Queens of the Stone Age's Joshua Homme, recorded exclusively for this film at Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas. Live footage is interspersed throughout the film.Also included as extras are 18 minutes of footage from the Gruene Hall show and 17 minutes of live footage from 1976/1981 preserved in the Ham Estate Archive.
