Vestergaard, the orchestra's cellist, had this to say about the performance: \"In this performance, Lan Shui moved the string section. For this performance, Lan Shui moved the string section, placing the cellos next to the first violins and the horns right behind them. The horns, trumpets, and timpani were period instruments, which gave a very soft sound that matched the tone of this small orchestra. Beethoven's tempo was so fast that the strings had a hard time keeping up, but it was also very effective.
