He has stepped into new compositional territory with the release of his fourth album, \"Time on My Hands,\" his first in two and a half years. From their record-breaking debut album, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, to today, Asgeir has pushed the boundaries of their brand of folk-pop. The singer-songwriter, one of Iceland's most successful artists, will release her fourth album, Time On My Hands, on October 28, 2022, on One Little Independent. Time On My Hands is the product of a state of introspection and experimentation in which Asgeir has spent the last several years immersed in songwriting, recording, translating, and producing at home and in the studio. On this album, Asgeir steps into new compositional territory, delicately layering acoustics with electronics and brass. The long period of time spent working on the material for the album gave Asgeir the opportunity to experiment with a variety of synthesizer sounds. We have a synth repairman in the studio and a lot of vintage synths. I bought an old Memorymoog from him during the recording of the album and used it on many of the songs. I wrote \"Vibrating Walls\" on a Korg PS-3100, and the Korg Delta has always been one of my favorite synths, and I've used it on several songs. In \"Golden Hour,\" I used my voice as a bass note, which came to me after listening to Moses Sumney's \"Rank and File,\"\" says Asgeir. Time On My Hands was recorded at Studio Hljodrit, where Asgeir usually records, with producer Gudmundur Kristinn Jonsson. Some of the recording was also done at home.Asgeir plays most of the instruments himself, but has invited Nils Tornqvist and Kristinn Snaer Agnarson on drums, Samuel Jon Samuelsson on brass, Kjartan Hakonarson, Oskar Gudjonsson, and Asgeir is an Icelandic singer-songwriter who released his debut album \"Dyrd i daudapogn\" in 2012. The album debuted at #1 on the Icelandic charts, becoming the fastest-selling debut album in the country's history. The band also won four Icelandic Music Awards (Iceland's Grammy Awards), including two major categories. 2014 saw the release of \"In the Silence,\" an English-language version of their debut album, and 2017 saw the release of their second album, \"Afterglow.
