After working mainly in Los Angeles, the band signed a major contract with Columbia Records and released their debut album \"Money Game\" (original title: \"Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich\") in 1989. The album sold over 2 million copies (No. 10 on the U.S. album chart). Their second album, \"Cherry Pie,\" released in 1990, was also a hit, selling more than 2 million copies (No. 7 on the U.S. album chart). The band was scheduled to perform in Japan for the first time with this album, but due to problems at the venue, the concert was canceled. The following year, in 1991, the band toured Japan as a reworking of that tour. The final concert of the tour, held on April 12 in Tokyo, was recorded and broadcast as a TV\/radio special program for promotional purposes.
