Bach Mean Laws\" by the one and only Bach performer Tatiana Nikolaeva, recorded in Japan, is reissued on SACD! New preface commentary by Yoshiko Ikuma and memoir \"16 years with Nikolaeva\" by Tomoo Nojima, the director at that time are included in the commentary JVC Digital K2HD SACD project. Mastering was done in pursuit of the original sound. World's first SACD release!\n\n\n\nThe recording was made at the Imaichi Civic Hall (now the Imaichi Cultural Hall in Nikko City), not far from the hotel where Tatiana Nikolaeva (1924-93) stayed during her visit to Japan, using the latest digital recorder at the time, the DAS-90. At the time, Nikolayeva had already recorded the Mean Clavier Works in Russia, and based on this experience, she recorded this work in Japan with the aim of achieving the best performance and recording possible. The more mature and expressive nuances were further refined by K2HD mastering from the master captured by the then state-of-the-art digital recording (DAS-90). The delicate touch of the music can now be enjoyed in a sound of the highest quality, surpassing the previous version.\n\n\n\nAfter winning the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig in 1950, which was held to commemorate the bicentennial of his death, Nikolaeva gained an international reputation as a leading Bach performer. Shostakovich, who was selected as a juror at the aforementioned competition, was greatly impressed by Nikolayeva's performance and composed \"24 Preludes and Fugues\" in 1951 (premiered in 1952), which is said to represent Soviet piano music in the 20th century, and dedicated the work to Nikolayeva.Nikolaeva made many recordings for the Melodia label and visited Japan frequently to record Bach's works with Victor. The recording of the works, initially as a joint production with Melodia and later as Victor originals, began in 1977, and five albums (counting the averages as one) were left behind from 1982 to 1991 with an intervening period. After the first recording in 1977, the sessions were recorded at the Imaichi Cultural Hall in Nikko, near where Nikolaeva herself preferred to stay at the time. Later, Victor recorded Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 live with Nikolaeva as the soloist at the \"Tchaikovsky Last Concert\" conducted by Fedoseyev in Osaka in 1993 (available as a SACD hybrid disc of this project in 2022 on NCS88013 NCS88013). Nikolaeva died the following year, so this disc was her last recording with Victor.\n\n(1\/3)\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"VICTOR X TOWER RECORDS","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51598181466401,"sku":"4988002948567","price":57.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4988002948567.jpg?v=1755223272","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/it-it\/products\/4988002948567","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
