The piano used for the recording is an 1887 New York Steinway with a very beautiful rosewood body. It was once used as a rental concert piano at the time of the founding of Carnegie Hall and Metropolitan Hall. It later moved to Japan, where it was kept at the Capitol Tokyu Hotel for a while.
