Paul Carrack, the man with the golden voice, has just released "Live 2000-2020 The Independent Years" (PPR-4211), a 5-CD live album of deep, heart-shaking love songs. He has been active since the 1970s as a central figure in the British blue-eyed soul scene, and in recent years he is known for his participation in Clapton's tours as a keyboardist and vocalist. For Valentine's Day this year, he released this 2-CD compilation of 38 selected "love songs" from his 24 years of solo albums, from "Blue Views" (1996) to "These Days" (2018). The album includes not only "Satisfy My Soul" and "Eyes of Blue," which have become his signature solo songs, but also the standard numbers "Moon River," Van Morrison's 1970 classic "Into the Mystic," Burt Bacharach Burt Bacharach/Hal David's hit number "Walk On By," and many other great cover songs sung with Paul's unique interpretation and soulful sense. Paul has a reputation for his emotional voice, which he brings to bear on the love songs.A must-have for Paul fans and an excellent sampler for those who want to listen to his solo work but don't know which album to start with!
