He was an ardent follower of Mozart, and was a close friend of Mozart's wife Constanze and his two sons, and was trusted by them. Lichtenthal was the author of numerous arrangements of Mozart's works, including the Requiem (GRAM 99188). The first half of this album features Piano Concerto No. 20, in which Lichtenthal arranged the orchestral part for string quartet. Aurelia Vyšován plays the historic Hamarkovia, and together with the Pandolfis Consort they form a dense ensemble. The second half includes the C minor Piano Sonata and Fantasy, in which Lichtenthal adds a cello part, and here cellist Günter Schagel of the Pandolfis Consort plays in perfect harmony with Vishovan.
