The concerto, on the other hand, will be performed in a large church space, using the same Pleyel instruments but with a more powerful sound to balance the orchestra's higher pitch (440 Hz) and volume. The concerto is based on the latest score (the historical version of the Echier edition), but incorporates in many places the fingerings of Karl (Karol) Mikli, one of Chopin's students. The project focuses on Chopin's own writings and those left behind by his contemporaries who were closely associated with him. Heyender is a pianist who studied with Ludwig Hoffmann in Munich and Leon Fleischer in Baltimore. He has performed with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic, Staatskapelle Dresden, and Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra under the direction of Kirill Petrenko, Lorin Maazel, Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Chailly, and others.Orchestra La Scintilla was formed in 1970 by members of the Zurich Opera House when Nikolaus Arnoncourt and Jean-Pierre Poner organized a production of Monteverdi's opera. Riccardo Minaj is a violinist and conductor who has earned a reputation for his performances of Baroque and Classical music, especially on period instruments.
