Proby, an American singer who gained fame in the U.K. in the 1960s, had no hits in the late 1960s and his situation was deteriorating. In the midst of this situation, he had an opportunity to make an album with session musicians gathered at Olympic Studios in London.

The group consisted of Jimmy Page, who had disbanded the Yardbirds and was planning a new band; John Paul Jones, one of the busiest arrangers and musicians in London at the time, on bass and keyboards; and a young John Bonham, whose powerful playing on drums was beginning to make him a force to be reckoned with. (Robert Plant also played harmonica). The album "Three Week Hero" is the result of a fateful encounter between the members who would later conquer the world as Led Zeppelin.

On this album, Probie's dramatic vocals and the heavy, bluesy band sound that would later become the germ of the Zeppelin sound collided violently, creating a unique chemical reaction. Page's sharp guitar riffs, Jones' precise bass lines, and Bonham's thunderous drums swell in unison, while Probie roars above them with a voice as loud as in his prime.

Bonus tracks include "Mery Hoppkins Never Had Days Like These," a jam session number that directly conveys the atmosphere in the studio with Probie and Zeppelin, and other singles not included on the album.

Includes obi commentary.

Commentary: Hirokazu Yakame

Tracklisting:

1.
