In 1978, he became the first Japanese saxophonist to win a prize in an international competition at the Gap International Saxophone Competition in France. In 1979 and 1981, he was invited to perform \"Pictures at an Exhibition\" and \"Bolero\" as soloist for the Karajan\/Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra's tour of Japan and China. In 1982, she made her debut as a soloist, performing Ibert's concerto at the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra subscription concert. Since then, she has been invited as a soloist by the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra (393rd and 445th concerts), Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Gumyo Symphony Orchestra, and Century Orchestra Osaka.
