Description:

Long-awaited solo piano after 15 years! Eight pieces by Carla Bley, his ally Masaaki Kikuchi's Little Abyss, and originals that are casually profound, full of tenderness and beauty. Long-awaited solo work by Takeshi Shibuya, a master of naturalism, for the first time in 15 years! As the title says, I love it! Six of the eight songs are by (and related to) Carla Bley, who, as the title suggests, is a favorite of his. As he says himself, the song selection and performance are "just like me, just the way I am now. However, Takeshi Shibuya's natural expression was, as always, profound. His performance of Carla's representative songs, Lawnes and Ida Lupino, was to the point and simple in its expression, but beautiful as if lost in a dream, magically erasing the daily clutter and transforming even the noisy atmosphere. On the other hand, M4 and M6, which have been performed by their own orchestra for years, are filled with a sense of heartfelt sadness, and M7, which echoes the spirit of gospel music that continues from there, and the development toward the end of the song is full of drama." A new original titled "Passing Time" is the ending of the song.As Takeshi Shibuya has composed many pieces for children, this piece oozes a tenderness that reminds one of childhood, and it also gently touches on the time that flows within each of us. Including a rendition of "Little Abyss" by Masaaki Kikuchi, a classmate of his from high school whom he respected throughout his life, the piece is unaffected but rich in emotion down to the "every crevice between the notes". It is a work of timeless beauty.
