Bernstein + NYP's \"Thousand People\" live on December 9, 1965! Bernstein is Mahler, and Mahler is Bernstein. However, the number of performances of the difficult \"Symphony of a Thousand\" seems to be a few. In 1966, he recorded it with the London Symphony Orchestra. This live performance was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra in 1966, and the performance was very clear and clear, as if it was recorded in a studio. This live performance was recorded at a subscription concert in December 1965. This is the sound image Mahler himself envisioned, as if it were heard in an actual concert hall. In other words, it is a very natural live recording in which the instruments and singers reach the audience's ears with a sense of distance from each other in the midst of a superb large-scale composition. The performance time on the CD proves that the tempo was set lightly, without being obsessive about details, and the performance was energetic and exhilarating, typical of Bernstein in his 40s. The finale, however, is so profoundly spiritual that one can't help but meditate on it.Please note that it is in mono and that there is some volume instability and wavering in the conclusion of the first part. Comes with conscientiously detailed track.
