This is a reexamination and reissue of "Ecological Plantron" (1994), a radical installation that uses sound to let us experience the ecological chain that envelops our bodies from the perspective of plants. Bioartist Yuji Dougane researched and developed "Plantron" in the early 1990s, aiming to create a device that talks to and from plants (*He also has a related doctoral dissertation). The primary purpose of this device, which extracts ecological currents from plants (orchids) and converts them into physical phenomena that can be perceived by humans, is to investigate whether humans can perceive the intelligence of plants, and not to play with physical phenomena themselves. Ecological Plantron" is the first "sound" record of an installation using this "plantron. In this work, composer Mamoru Fujieda has created a copper-gold "plantron" as a sound system for an installation, in which the ecological current generated by the communication between plants and the human environment is programmed into electronic sound, emitting irregularly shaped and irregular electronic sound particles (*Note). If one were to use a strong analogy, one might imagine an atmosphere somewhat similar to that of Xenakis' or Penderecki's graphic score music. The term "ecological current" reminds us of the experimental music of Rosenboom, Lucier, and others who used human brain waves, but it should be noted that this work is not human-based but plant-first, and is not presented as a "musical work" to begin with. This reissue features a remastered version of the independent recordings made at the gallery, and two works derived from "Ecological Plantron", "Mangrove Plantron" and "Pianola Plantron", are included on a bonus disc. The first LP version will also be released. It should be noted that since the experimental release of this device in 1991, pseudo/similar attempts have still emerged, the original of which was "Plantron". The commentary includes the latest contribution by Donganjin, and explores this experiment, the secret story of its development, and the intention of this work once again. Note: Fujieda rediscovered the "melody" that modern music has left behind in the process of trying to extract some kind of regularity from this sound mass over which humans have no control, and this process led him to compose and publish the series "Plant Patterns".

Tracklisting:

1.Evening
