The band's seventh album, "7," is released, a departure from its own past and a rebirth of the band. 7" is Beach House's seventh album and will be released worldwide (excluding Europe, Australia and New Zealand) on May 11, 2018 via Sub Pop. The second single, "Dive," has already been released, with both songs winning Pitchfork's Best New Tracks. In 2017, the band released "B-Sides and Rarities," a compilation of B-sides and rare tracks. For the band, this work was a good opportunity to put the past behind them and start something new. The band's goal with the album "7" was to regenerate and rejuvenate, to reevaluate past practices and remove self-imposed limitations. In fact, unlike in the past, when the band wrote songs that could be reproduced live, they let the natural flow of the music take over on this album. As a result, the album includes songs without guitars or keyboards, and songs with layers and production that would be impossible to reproduce live. This approach of letting the creative senses take over rather than the instruments was extremely exciting for the band. In the past, studio time was limited due to cost, but the band solved this problem by building their own studio for this album. The band worked out the framework of the songs in their own studio with no restrictions, and then finalized them at Carriage House Studios in Stamford, Connecticut, and Palmetto Recording Studio in Los Angeles. 7" also did not have a so-called producer. This was a way to put themselves in a more creative situation and not be tied to one person's ideas. James Barone, who has been a live member of the band since 2016, plays drums on the album.Peter Kember (Spacemen 3), aka Sonic Boom, also worked on the album, and Peter was a big help in bringing the songs to life and avoiding overproduction. The album was titled "7" because it was their seventh album. By keeping the title simple, the band hoped that listeners would focus on the album's content. In numerology, the number "7" has an interesting hand in the number one and the number seven. The number seven serves as a restart, since the number one and the number seven share a common appearance. Also, in most early religions, the number seven was considered to be the highest level of spirituality, as in "7th heaven. In the making of this album, we were at the pinnacle of our creative state. We felt that the number "7" conveys some profound truths.

Tracklisting:

.Dark Spring
.Pay No Mind
.Lemon Glow
.L'Inconnue
.Drunk in LA
.Dive
.Black Car
.Lose Your Smile
.Woo
.Girl Of The Year
.Last Ride
