This recording is based on the first draft of Wagner's dedication!　This disc is the second Bruckner symphony recording by Simone Young, the first female conductor ever to conduct the Vienna Philharmonic, with the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra (the Philharmoniker Hamburg State Opera Orchestra's name for its concert activities). This is a remarkable recording of the first draft of the Second Symphony (1872 [revised by William Callaghan in 1990 and published in 2005]).The first draft was dedicated \"with profound respect to His Holiness Richard Wagner, an unprecedented and world-renowned master of the art of poetry and sound,\" and contains several quotations from Wagner, including Tristan and Die Walküre, but the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra refused to perform it for the first time. It is said that Wagner liked it, although it is rarely performed or recorded (e.g., on the Inbal disc, Rozhestvensky 1988 disc, etc.).　Simone Young, who specializes in heavy German operas such as Wagner (she conducted a collection of Wagner opera arias with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra in support of Johan Botha on Ames Classics), fully demonstrated her ability and true value in the Bruckner symphony as well. The Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra are a group of highly skilled musicians who give a superb performance together.　She also has a well-received live recording (OC908) of Hindemith's opera \"The Painter Matisse\" by Hindemith, which she featured in her first new production as General Music Director of the Hamburg State Opera (her contract was recently extended through 2010) and which received great buzz and acclaim.　[Comments courtesy of BMG Japan.]\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Oehms Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46226588500257,"sku":"4260034866249","price":17.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4260034866249.jpg?v=1691703553","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/it-it\/products\/4260034866249","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
